According to the analysis of experts on politics and warfare as well as many scientists, a report was made on which countries could survive a nuclear war between the USA and Russia. They say that the safest countries, in that case, are Australia and Argentina, the Sunday Times reports.

This most detailed analysis of the effects of the so-called nuclear winter showed that far more people could die from the indirect effects of nuclear war than from the direct effects of nuclear explosions.

Iceland is also one of the countries that could survive nuclear disasters. It is a small island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of just over 300,000 people and an area of 103,000 square kilometres. Iceland is one of the safest countries in case of nuclear war due to its isolation, lack of military, and geothermal energy, experts say.

There are other consequences of dying in the event of a nuclear war. For example, after the detonation of a nuclear bomb, the damage itself would affect all of humanity. Yes, these countries would probably avoid a nuclear disaster, but in the meantime there would be a problem of food shortages, causing many to starve to death.

So, for example, in the five years immediately following a nuclear conflict, five billion people could die of starvation caused by dust in the atmosphere, which would block sunlight, probably far more than the casualties caused by the deadly explosions themselves, according to a new study according to Bloomberg.

This research says that radiation would affect crops the most, as would the presence of ultraviolet radiation in the air. This would lead to difficulties in planting, which would soon lead to starvation.

“Our study is the first step to reveal national food security after nuclear wars, but crops may not respond uniformly to the same forcing in each nation, given different farming practices. In addition, the multi-model assessment will be essential to fully investigate this problem, and crop model developments are important to understand the impacts of surface ozone, ultraviolet radiation and freshwater availability. Furthermore, local radioactive contamination and climate change from nuclear war would impact the insect community. The influence on pests, pollinators and other insects is unclear, and hence further studies are needed”, said the report.

Scientists claim that the war would affect both the economy and the market, it is the first problem that would arise after a nuclear war, countries would have to cooperate in trade due to the great loss of food and crops.

Even a relatively minor conflict between nuclear powers India and Pakistan could wipe out more than a billion people due to crop failure, most of them in countries far from the conflict itself. The explosion of a nuclear weapon alone could lead to the death of 50 to 100 million people.

So if you are afraid of a possible nuclear disaster, fleeing to Australia, Argentina or Iceland would certainly not help you much later because you would certainly feel the effects of radiation sooner or later.
